ISD announces board vacancy

The St. Joseph County Intermediate School District has issued a media release indicating an impending vacancy on its board of education.

Member Sarah Vollmer recently notified the board she will be moving out of St. Joseph County next week and, at that point, will no longer be eligible to serve on the board.

As a result, the ISD is accepting applications to fill the balance of Vollmer’s term. The board has 30 days to fill the position.

With the exception of voters who reside within the Sturgis Public Schools district, any registered voter whose primary residence is in St. Joseph County is entitled to apply. The board already has its maximum quota of Sturgis Public Schools district residents.

A letter of interest and résumé must be submitted to the ISD by 4 p.m. June 24 either through mail, fax or email. Interviews will be conducted July 6.
