Arrest made following incident in Three Rivers

One person was arrested in Three Rivers last week following an investigation involving St. Joseph County Special Response Team.

According to Three Rivers Police, officers on Tuesday received a report of two individuals who had threatened each other with firearms.

When officers arrived, the suspects had already left the area. Officers continued investigating the incident throughout the night and into the following morning.

Authorities said that officers eventually identified the involved parties and developed probable cause to believe one of the suspects was located at his registered residence.

As a result, investigators subsequently obtained a search warrant for the residence.

Special Response Team members executed the warrant Wednesday morning in the 800 block of Elm Street and apprehended the suspect without incident.

During their search of the residence, officers recovered a stolen handgun, along with additional evidence related to the investigation.
