Details released in Cass County hit-and-run crash

Cass County Sheriff Clint Roach has provided an update regarding a hit-and-run fatal crash last month in Silver Creek Township.

Roach said deputies were dispatched shortly before 10 a.m. May 24 to the area of M-152 and Pleasant Street.

Investigators said the victim, 24-year-old Benton Harbor resident Timothy Johnson, was walking along the state road when he was struck by a vehicle. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Roach said investigators have determined that the suspect vehicle is a 2010-through 2012 black Ford Taurus. The vehicle should have excessive driver’s-side damage, according to authorities.
