A suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident last month in Cass County’s Silver Creek Township has been arrested.
Sheriff Clint Roach said the incident occurred May 24 on M-152, near Pleasant Street.
He said investigators spent countless hours on the incident in an effort to bring closure to Timothy Johnson’s family and friends.
Johnson, a 24-year-old Benton Harbor resident, was walking along the state road when he was struck by a vehicle. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect’s name is being withheld pending arraignment.
Roach thanked citizens of Cass, VanBuren and Berrien counties who allowed investigators to view video footage and provide information related to the investigation.
