Marian Samuels, 73

Marian Ruth Samuels, age 73, of Sturgis, passed away Friday afternoon, June 12, 2026, at her home.

She was born December 20, 1952 in South Bend, daughter of the late Robert and Alvadine (Miltenberger) Samuels.

Marian was a lifelong Sturgis resident and a graduate of Sturgis High School with the Class of 1971.

She will be remembered for her strong work ethic and dedication throughout her working years. Marian was employed by I.A.C. in Mendon for several years. Prior to joining I.A.C., she worked at Bronson Plastics in Bronson and the Kirsch Company in Sturgis. A passionate advocate for workers, she was a strong supporter of organized labor and proudly served as a Union Steward at each of the companies where she was employed.

For many years, Marian was actively involved with the Sturgis Toy Run and enjoyed riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycle, camping, bowling, playing Bingo, and spending time outdoors. She embraced life with enthusiasm and enjoyed many interests and activities. However, nothing brought her greater happiness than being surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.

She is survived by her daughter, Justina (John) Anding of Sturgis; son, James Jones of Sturgis; grandchildren, Mykel Jones, Seven Jones, James Jones II, Chauntaya Anding, Jakyra Anding, and Mya Anding; sisters, Sharon (Ty) Clipfell of Colon, Karen Stiver of Union, and Carol Harker of Shipshewana, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Victoria Jean Samuels.

In honoring Marian’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced.
