Rosemary June Adams, age 89, of Centreville, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday morning, June 13, 2026, at her home while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 27, 1936 in Sturgis, daughter of the late Walter and Erma (Aldrich) Stutz.
Rosemary resided most of her life in Centreville, and was a proud graduate of Centreville High School with the Class of 1954.
On July 17, 1954, she married the love of her life, Jerry Adams, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis, with the Rev. Herbert M. Heidenreich officiating. Together they shared nearly 72 years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and love.
Throughout her working years, Rosemary was employed at several physicians’ offices, including those of Dr. Park in Three Rivers and Dr. Olney in Centreville, where she retired. She also served as executive secretary to the administrator of Three Rivers Hospital.
A faithful and active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis, Rosemary devoted countless hours to her church family. She led Bible studies for many years, was instrumental in establishing the church library, and could always be counted on to help with funeral luncheons and the church’s annual sauerkraut supper. Her commitment to serving others extended beyond her church as she volunteered for many years at the Sturgis Pregnancy Helpline.
Rosemary found companionship and joy in her beloved dog, Haven. The pair were a familiar sight walking throughout Centreville, earning Rosemary the affectionate nickname, “the dog lady.” Although she enjoyed many activities and community involvements, her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. She cherished every moment spent raising her children and creating lasting memories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Jerry Adams; children, Jane (Douglas) Visser of Robbinsville, North Carolina, Jerry (Debbie) Adams Jr. of Leonidas, John (Cheryl) Adams of Tyrone, Georgia, Jackie (Bob) Herr of Schoolcraft, and Jill (David) Marsh of Sturgis; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bonnie Anderson; and brother, Marty Stutz.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, June 18th, at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Road in Sturgis.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Rosemary Adams will begin at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 406 S. Lakeview Avenue in Sturgis. The Rev. Calvin Kolzow will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
