St. Joseph County Emergency Management has provided a list of local cooling centers.
They are: St. Joseph County Commission on Aging in Three Rivers as well its site in Sturgis. They are open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Three Rivers Public Library, which is open weekdays 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It will be closed Friday this week, however.
Sturgis Public Library is another option. It is open weekdays 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It, too, will be closed this Friday.
Emergency Management officials also suggested Meijer, Walmart, and Constantine, White Pigeon and Burr Oak libraries as locations for relief from this week’s high temperatures.
