A four-year contract agreement has been reached between Sturgis Public Schools and its teachers’ union.
Superintendent Art Ebert said the four-year agreement was finalized during the board’s June meeting.
Details include a 3 percent salary increase this year and another in 2027. Meanwhile, increases of 2.5 percent are on tap for 2028 and again in 2029. Ebert said in addition, salaried employees with get a $1,000 bonus this year while hourly employees will receive $500.
Furthermore, Ebert noted the contract includes a curriculum-rate increase for staff and a tuition-reimbursement clause to help teachers who are taking classes for continuing education.
