The name of a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident last month in Cass County’s Silver Creek Township has been released.
Sheriff Clint Roach said Enrique Martinez, 22, was arrested over the weekend following the May 21 incident on M-152, near Pleasant Street.
He said investigators spent countless hours on the incident in an effort to bring closure to Timothy Johnson’s family and friends.
Johnson, a 24-year-old Benton Harbor resident, was walking along the state road when he was struck by a vehicle. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Martinez is charged with failure to stop, tampering with evidence and reckless driving causing death.
