Three Rivers municipal officials recently announced receipt of more than $700,000 through a state grant.
City Manager Joe Bippus said Michigan State Housing Development Authority provided Three Rivers a community development block grant of $752,800, an offer extended in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The city is allocating the funds through its housing-rehabilitation program.
Potential recipients are targeted at or below 80 percent area median income. It provides qualified residents with the opportunity to address health and safety concerns, as well as maintenance issues.
Grants are interest-free forgivable loans totaling $25,000 per household.
