UAW advises drivers to use caution entering and exiting facility

A representative from United Auto Workers advises commercial drivers to use caution when entering and leaving the American Axle property.

Frank Hines said there was an incident last week on the picket line involving a vehicle operated by a Waste Management driver and striking members.

Hines said no one was injured.

However, Hines noted, the incident serves as a reminder that everyone entering and leaving the facility should do so with caution and respect for the safety of those lawfully exercising their right to strike.

The safety of workers, community members and motorists should always be a priority, Hines said.
