Arson suspected in damage to Westwood Little League

Kalamazoo Township fire officials said they suspect arson destroyed two portable restrooms and damaged a scoreboard at Westwood Little League earlier this month.

According to Fox 17 News, the juvenile they believe to be responsible for the July 8 incident was taken into custody.

Groundskeeper Jordan Simpson said he had to fix a scoreboard that appears was intentionally lit on fire. In addition, Simpson said he spent several hours scooping burnt plastic mixed with sewage from the ground.

Repairs will cost an estimated $10,000, according to Jordan.
