Ethan James Smith, age 20, of Sturgis, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026, in Sturgis.
He was born January 12, 2006 in Sturgis, son of Russell James “Jamey” Smith, Jr. and Felicia (Kinney) Smith.
Ethan was a lifelong Sturgis resident. He enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles and had a love for driving fast. He was happiest when spending time with his friends and family, especially his beloved son, Ezekial, who was the light of his life.
He is survived by his son, Ezekial and his mother: Riley Lung of Sturgis; his parents, Russell James “Jamey” and Sara Smith of Sturgis and Felicia (Josh) Keith; his sister, Faith Smith of Sturgis; his brothers, Logan Cleveland of Sturgis and Avery (Cassandra) Cleveland of Mendon; his grandparents, Russell Smith, Sr. of Coldwater, Brad and Barb Kinney of Constantine, Robin Berner of Paw Paw, and Ken and Starr Mangold of Bushnell, Florida; and several aunts, uncles and cousins, including a special uncle, Ken Mangold, II of Sturgis.
In honoring the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time.
