Fair warns of rodeo event scam

St. Joseph County Grange Fair officials are cautioning the public about a scam related to a fictitious rodeo.

The scam centers on an event hosted by Centreville Ranch Rodeo, which is not a real organization. The event is being hyped as a rodeo featuring working-ranch cowboys competing in tasks such as wild-cow milking, stray-trailer loading and open branding.

The non-existent event is being promoted by rodeoticket.com, also a fictitious company, and supposedly taking place July 25.

Fair officials warn the public to not click on any links associated with this fake promotion.
