Local church collecting shoes

Here’s a reminder that Crossroads Missionary Church is in the midst of collecting men’s, women’s and kids shoes, no matter the condition, through the end of the month.

New, used and worn-out shoes are welcome. In addition, boots are also accepted as part of the “Footprints Across America” drive.

Footprints distributes all shoes free to needy veterans, homeless, shelters, disasters and even schools in St. Joseph County.

Shoes and boots not wearable are ground up into playground ground cover.

Items can be dropped off at the outside bins at the west entrance of the church through July 30. Its address is 22605 M-60, at the southeast corner of M-60 and Silver Street.
