In light of a high-heat advisory today, St. Joseph County Emergency Management has provided a list of local cooling centers.
They are: St. Joseph County Commission on Aging in Three Rivers as well its site in Sturgis. They are open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Three Rivers Public Library, which is open weekdays 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Sturgis Public Library is another option. It is open weekdays 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Officials from the Centreville Baptist Church said the location is open 1 to 4 p.m. Activities include board games, and light refreshments will be offered.
The church is located at 135 S. Dean St.
Emergency Management officials also suggested Meijer and Walmart, and Constantine, White Pigeon and Burr Oak libraries as locations for relief from this week’s high temperatures.
