Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has announced a new project to build a fiberglass manufacturing facility in Cassopolis.
According to Whitmer, the company Fibrosan is expected to invest nearly $17 million in Cass County.
County officials said the facility is expected to create 32 new jobs. It is to be located on a 10-acre piece of land on Decatur Road, just south of Midwest Energy between M-60 and Geneva Street.
Meanwhile, a Phase 2 expansion in the future would likely triple production capacity.
A ceremonial groundbreaking was expected to take place Tuesday. Operations are slated to begin in March.
