Union business destroyed in fire

A fire occurred Tuesday morning resulting in the destruction of a local business.

Zimmy’s Tavern, a popular spot located in Union, caught fire Tuesday morning. A gas leak which caused an explosion led to the fire, according to officials.

Zimmy’s had its 80th anniversary earlier this year. Reports indicate there was one injury stemming from the blaze, which is believed to have started before 6:30 a.m.

Residents nearby were evacuated from the area because of the gas leak.

The incident remains under investigation.
