A mother in Shipshewana was arrested on Wednesday following the death of an infant in April.

Detectives from the Indiana State Police decided there was enough evidence to charge Chantel Cunningham, 24, of Shipshewana, with murder. Additionally, Cunningham is being charged with neglect of a dependent, causing death. Both are Level 1 felonies in Indiana.

Troopers from the ISP began the investigation on April 6 and were able to provide enough evidence to arrest Cunningham, who is currently being lodged at the LaGrange County Jail.
