Mothers Day is not celebrated until next Spring, but in my mind, we should remember and celebrate our mothers everyday. Here are some things to remember whenever your patience grows thin as she ages:
— When your mother grows old, don’t count the times she bothers you. Remember, she never counted the times she woke up to soothe your cries.
— When your mother gets old and her steps start to slow down, hold her hand like she used to hold your little hand when you were learning to walk.
— When your mother gets old and repeats the same stories, listen to her, because she never got tired of your endless chatter.
— When your mother grows old and her memory begins to fade, don’t be angry. Remember, she is the one who will remember you the longest.
— When your mother grows old, don’t let her feel alone in the world she once filled entirely with you.
Next Monday, September 7, is Labor Day. There will be no mail delivery, the banks will be closed, and your weekly trash pickup will be a day late, because garbage trucks will not be on their routes on Labor Day.
Labor Day we celebrate the workers who keep our world running. The Three Rivers Womans Club would like to invite everyone to take a walk around town and cross the many bridges that cross the Portage, Rocky, and St. Joe Rivers. This is an annual event, so do your civic duty and get out and support the ladies.
On Sunday, September 6, the downtown district turns into a HarmonyFest. So after Sunday School and Church, take the family downtown and enjoy a variety of music. It’s all FREE.
See you Out and About!
