Rhonda Jean Moyer, age 58, passed away at Thurston Woods in Sturgis on Sunday, August 2, 2026. She was born in Sturgis on May 17, 1968, the daughter of Claude “Ron” Moyer and Delores Truckey. Rhonda attended Colon High School and was part of the 1987 graduating class. During her classroom years, she showcased her “book smarts” and was a straight-A student, a member of the National Honors Society, and enjoyed cheerleading. Rhonda worked at TH Plastics in Mendon for many years and then at Kirsch’s in Three Rivers until they closed.
Rhonda loved singing to good time rock and roll and Cyndi Lauper, playing board games and cards, and reading. Her baking skills are still talked about to this day, making the best fudge, no-bake cookies with her dad, and pumpkin rolls with her mom (anything to cure that sweet tooth). Rhonda loved to drive, which was quite impressive given she was bad at directions. She enjoyed swimming at the mill pond, taking trips up north in the Baldwin area, and attending any family gathering she could. Rhonda enjoyed and loved her family very much, laughing with them, picking out children’s names before they were even born, and holding those precious grandbabies.
Rhonda is survived by her son, Austin Moyer (Paige Murphy); two grandchildren, Paisleigh and Ryland; her three sisters, Robyn (Willie) Roop, Jodie Warn, and Amy Taylor; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was preceded in passing by her parents, Ron and Delores Moyer; and brother-in-law, Joseph Warn.
Visitation for Rhonda will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home (311 West Main Street, Mendon, MI 49072) from 6 until 8pm. Funeral services will take place on Friday, August 7, 2026 at the funeral home starting at 11am with Pastor Keith Kettwich officiating.
