The Michigan State Police are continuing to investigate a plane crash which happened in Kalamazoo County on Wednesday evening.
Troopers said a man and teenager were seriously injured in the accident involving a small plane on the southeast side of Vicksburg. The crash happened near East W Avenue between South 27th and South Richardson streets around 7 p.m.
The pilot, a 55-year-old man, and the passenger, a 13-year-old boy, suffered serious injuries and were taken to a local hospital.
Authorities arrived at the crash site in a corn field with both occupants trapped inside.
Life EMS has a new program which allows paramedics to conduct blood transfusions in the field. One of the occupants received a blood transfusion at the crash site.
The incident remains under investigation.
