Three Rivers Health announced plans Tuesday to build a new 27,000-square-foot medical office building on its campus. This will help create a centralized location for critical outpatient services. It will also mark a major step toward the hospital’s recovery following the severe storms earlier this year which damaged parts of the campus.
The expected $23 million facility will be a one-story unit which will replace three buildings which sustained quite a bit of damage. Those three buildings — the Schimnoski building, the Center for Wound and Healing, and the ProMed Building — are expected to be demolished at the end of August, according to officials.
The medical office building will house a Rural Health Clinic with family medicine, internal medicine and an OB unit with gynecology services. It is also expected to include a hematology/oncology unit, an infusion center and a wound care clinic with a hyperbaric chamber.
It will support both patient comfort and care delivery. It will improve access to care and enhance coordination between outpatient and hospital-based services and provide patients with a convenient healthcare experience which is close to home.
Off-site fabrication of the new medical building is expected to begin later this month.
