Vicksburg narrows search for village manager

The Vicksburg Village Manager position is down to four finalists.

Bronson City Manger Brandon Mersman is one of those finalists.

Village officials plan to do interviews on September 1 of the four finalists. Initially, there were 24 applicants for the position. In addition to Mersman, the other three finalists are Amy Cordes, the village manger of Lawrence, former Decatur village manager Christopher Tapper and Erik Wilson, former city manager of Wayland.

Mersman brings 14 years of experience covering village, township and city government positions.

Jim Malleery, the current village manager in Vicksburg, has announced he will be retiring at the end of the year. He’s held the position for better than a decade.
