The St. Joseph County Transportation Authority millage renewal passed with flying colors on Tuesday night.
The millage renewal, which is expected to generate more than $974,000 in revenue in its first year, earned more than two-thirds “yes” nods from voters at the polls.
The renewal is 0.33 of a mill, that being 33 cents, on each one thousand dollars of the taxable valuation of real property for a period of four years from 2027 – 2030.
I use the transportation authority to get to Glen Oaks for classes. I’m so glad the millage passed! Thank you to everyone who voted for it! I’m a testimony to how wonderful the transition system is! It’s there for everyone who needs a ride!
