A boil water advisory for the village of Constantine remains in effect.
Officials said a major service disruption occurred on a water main break on Monday.
Village residents are under a boil water advisory until further notice. Officials shut off water around 8:30 a.m. to repair a 10-inch water main break which occurred in the 1000 block of S. Washington Street.
A major setback happened during the repair as well. It was originally expected to take a couple of hours to fix, but a gas line ruptured at the repair site and caused a setback to the original timeline.
The gas line was fixed before noon on Monday. Officials said the water service was turned back on just before 1 p.m. but announced the boil water advisory at that time.
Constantine Public Schools announced they would not be in session on Monday.
