A fire destroyed a two-story home in the 53000 block of Shannon Road in Leonidas Township on Friday morning. Seven local fire departments responded to the blaze.
The incident started after 8 a.m. and first-responding personnel were dispatched out on the report of a structure fire. Heavy smoke was pouring from the residence when personnel arrived on scene, according to reports.
Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in a handful of hours, but the home suffered catastrophic fire damage. It was demolished due to structural integrity concerns, officials said.
There were no injuries reported.
