The Sturgis Area Community Foundation has tabbed a new leader.
The foundation announced the addition of Ashley Magnus, who was appointed as the new Executive Director of the foundation on Monday.
Magnus is an accomplished nonprofit executive with extensive experience in philanthropy, fundraising, strategic planning and community engagement, the foundation said. She brings a proven track record of organizational and community impact to the group as well.
Magnus will be expected to lead the foundation’s strategic vision and operations. The group is also looking to continue to grow its county-wide philanthropic expansion.
In recent times, the foundation increased its assets by a significant amount from $34 million to $54 million.
Magnus has served as the Executive Director of the Acorn Centre for the Performing Arts in Three Oaks. There, she increased annual fundraising by 43 percent. In previous stops, Magnus was the General Director of the Chicago Opera Theatre. She is currently a member of the Constantine School of Education Board.
A resident of St. Joseph County, Magnus has been involved in community planning, education, economic development and civic initiatives. She holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Utah and a bachelor’s degree in Music Management from the University of Evansville.
The foundation said Magnus will assume her responsibilities on October 12.
