Two recent Kalamazoo homicides are believed to be connected, officials said. A pair of men have been arrested in connection with those investigations as well.
On Tuesday, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said it arrested two people. Earlier this week, 18-year-old Amaure’ Harris was killed on Fox Ridge Drive. Police located her suffering from a gunshot wound and attempted life-saving measures, but were unsuccessful.
Officials said the connection may be a retaliatory one. Investigators said they believe Harris’ death was a retaliation for the shooting death of Latraysa Brown, which occurred on Sunday.
Brown, 49, was killed inside her home early Sunday morning. Like Harris, she was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was given life-saving measures at a local hospital, where she later died.
Authorities have not yet released the names of the individuals arrested.
