A local pharmacy in both Three Rivers and Vicksburg has closed its doors for good.
Fred’s Pharmacy, which had locations in both communities, closed earlier this week at both sites. The move appeared to be unexpected and without much warning to customers.
Both pharmacies had been staples in the communities. Fred’s was located next to Harding’s in Three Rivers, which also recently closed its doors. Fred’s had been a business in Three Rivers since 1985. A sign located at the Three Rivers facility notified customers of prescriptions being moved to Walgreens in town. The Vicksburg location had a similar sign, notifying customers their prescriptions had been moved to a local Walgreens in Portage.
Fred’s joins a list of local businesses which have closed recently, including Harding’s and Dad’s Place.

They had the ability to text or phone every customer and they could not be bothered to notify them?
As a long time and frequent customer, I called Fred’s the day Hardings closed and asked how that affected them. I was told it would not. I discovered the opposite by calling for my refills only to have Walgreens’ automated system imprison me in an AI loop. What the heck is wrong with business owners?!? They had the time and duty to let us know.
How did my private prescription health records get transferred to another company without my knowledge or permission? I never signed a form releasing my HIPAA to Walgreens.
