“Christmas Around Town,” Three Rivers’ official kickoff to the holiday season, begins today and continues through Saturday.
Today’s highlights include a horse-drawn carriage ride starting at 3 o’clock. Other attractions include a window story-book stroll featuring OTTO the Ornament, which starts at the Three Rivers Public Library, and dining at local restaurants and shopping at downtown stores.
The main event starts at 6 o’clock tonight, when the 18-foot downtown Christmas tree is lit in the Mural Mall walkthrough space.
The Holiday Spectacular concert follows, starting at 7 o’clock at Riviera Theatre. A minimum $5 donation is suggested and participants will have a chance to win a gift basket valued at more than $100.
Holiday events continue Saturday, with Santa arriving by fire truck to the Riviera Theater at noon.
There will also be a holiday scavenger hunt and children can make crafts at the Three Rivers Library from noon to 3:30 p.m.
