Albert Williams, age 76, of Three Rivers passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Albert was born on September 24, 1937 in Meriglod, MS from the union of John and Alean Williams. He was one of ten children.
Albert gave his life to Christ at an early age. Albert enlisted in the United States Army in May of 1961 and served our country in the Vietnam War where he received numerous military honors.
Albert was a mechanic for Chrysler until his retirement in 2003. Albert was a “Mr. Fix It” and a “Jack of all Trades”. He loved spending quality time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, gardening, landscaping, and boating. He was a kind-hearted man, always known for his witty jokes, and an outgoing socialite.
Albert was united in marriage in June of 2000 with Carrie Johnson. They relocated to Three Rivers in 2004 where he continued to work on cars. He was a faithful member of the Three Rives Lions Club and also a former driver for the St. Joseph County C.O.A.
He wa preceded in death by his parents, five siblings, and son, John A. Johnson III.
Albert leaves to cherish his loving memory, wife, Carrie J. Williams; daughters, Reubyna and Kimberly Johnson, Nyoka Johnson and Christopher (Kimberly) Johnson; sisters, Mary Lee Towrer, Mary Wiliams-Johnson, and Synorvia Wade; sister and brother –in-law, Leroy (Hattie) Warr. Thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and a host of nieces nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00p.m.on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Hohner Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church; 817 8th St; Three Rivers, MI 49093 with Pastor Tony Bennett officiating.
Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Three Rivers.
Memorials may be directed to New Jerusalem Church or Three Rivers Hospice. Envelopes available at Hohner Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
