Ralph W. Hogle, age 82, of Constantine, passed away Thursday, September 18th, 2008 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born in Flint on April 27, 1926, he was the son of the late Wayne and Allie (Smith) Hogle. Ralph graduated from Central high School in Flint in 1944 and then graduated from the Ferris University School of Pharmacy in 1948. He was employed in Pharmaceutical sales for several companies prior to opening Monitor Pharmacy in Bay City in 1959. In 1967 Ralph served as a hospital administrator in Nigeria with Baptist Missions. Returning to the US he then opened Community Pharmacy in Gladwin, MI in 1969 retiring in 1990. Ralph also served in the U.S. Army Air Force. On Dec. 5, 1987, Ralph married Wanda (Eley) Heslet at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Three Rivers. After his retirement they moved to the Constantine area. Ralph enjoyed traveling in his motor home, woodworking, and duck hunting. He was also a pilot and enjoyed radio controlled airplanes. Ralph is survived by his daughter Suellen (Terry) DuBay of Bay City, MI, and son Lawrence (Linda) Hogle of Sunnyvale, CA, step children Sharon (Bob) Brooks, Daytona Beach, FL, Matt (Janet) Heslet, Utica, MI, and Joy (Dennis) Rumsey, Constantine, grandchildren Ingrid Hogle, Kellie (Mike) Gillis, Lori (Jason) DuBay, 5 step grandchildren and great grandchildren Liam Gillis and Laura Gillis. He was preceded in death by his parents. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 pm at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine, where a Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Matthew Sorensen will officiate. Private interment of ashes will be at Riverside Cemetery in Three Rivers. Memorial contributions may be made to West Michigan Cancer Center or St. Joseph County Animal Rescue Fund.
