Out and About for December 9th

Accolades to all who participated in this past weekend’s production of Make We Merry. This 25th Anniversary production brought back many memories of those acts that many people enjoyed over the years. This Three Rivers Community Players production is a perfect way to start the Holiday season. It’s amazing how much talent exists here in the Three Rivers community. Thank you for putting us in the Christmas mood!

A week from Thursday, December 18, the Three Rivers High School Band Department will collaborate with the Middle School Band and put on a spaghetti dinner at the high school cafeteria. Catered by Fazoli’s, dinner includes spaghetti, bread sticks, salad, and something to drink. Dinner will be served from 5:30 to 6:30. Tickets must be purchased IN ADVANCE from any senior high school band member for $7. Tickets will NOT be available at the door. A free concert performed by the band department will start at 7 P.M. in the Performing Arts Center.  Money received from this fundraiser will go toward the upcoming band trip to Florida.

I promised to remind you about “Pet Pictures with Santa”. Next Sunday, December 14, the Animal Rescue Fund (ARF) will provide an opportunity to have your pet fulfill a lifelong dream and have its picture taken with Santa Claus himself.  The TSC store, on US-131, on the west side of Three Rivers, is the place to be from 1 to 4 P.M.  Cost for this memorable event is $10 for one pet and $2 for each additional pet in the picture. If you’re looking for that perfect gift, look no further. Fido will cherish the moment and Miss Kitty will love it for all of her nine lives. Need more information? Visit ARF’s website at www.arfund.org, or phone 273-1514 or 279-6251.

The Live Nativity will be on display from 6 to 8 P.M. In keeping with the Christmas spirit, the Hand Bell Choir and Church Choir will perform. If you’re into cookie decorating, this will be available for those interested. There will also be  hot soup to warm you up, along with games for the kids. There is no cost for all of this fun, so get Out and About and join in.

A benefit dinner for the family of Staff Sergeant Kris Rodgers will be held Sunday, December 14 at the Eagles Club, 7l5 E. Hoffman, in Three Rivers. Friends are a very important to me. At times, we forget to let our friends know how much they are appreciated and loved. Lion Bill Smith passed away last week. I tried to let him know how much I appreciated everything he did for Lions. He was my friend, and I’m sure he knew that. It was indeed an honor to work with him, and we will miss him.

See you Out and About.
