Bonnie Rhodes, 56

Bonnie Lee Rhodes, age 56 of Marcellus, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.  She was born in Kalamazoo County, MI on Aug. 19, 1952 the daughter of Leon F. and Elnora I. (Howard) Sylvester, and was a lifetime resident of this area.  Bonnie attended Schoolcraft Schools and later became a licensed Manicurist, operating from her own home.  She worked briefly at the Meijer Gas Station in Three Rivers until poor health forced her to retire.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Three Rivers and formerly in Schoolcraft.  She liked working in her flower garden, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  

Bonnie was married to David Rhodes on Feb. 15, 1969 in the Schoolcraft United Methodist Church. David survives, along with 1 daughter, Hope Keeton (Robert) of Willis, MI; 1 son, David Rhodes, Jr. of Marcellus;  5 grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Abel, Cailtyn and Samantha Keeton, and Spencer Barnes-Rhodes;  1 brother, Roger Sylvester (Eva) of Three Rivers; nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Teresa Ann Rhodes; and an infant daughter, Bambi. 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers.  Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 at the funeral home, followed by burial in Schoolcraft Cemetery.  Memorials will be directed to the family.
