Charles Edward Hass, 60

Charles Edward Hass, age 60, of Three Rivers, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Borgess Medical Center following a brief illness.  He was born on March 7, 1948 in Niles, Michigan the son of Fredrick W. and Evelyn B. (Smith) Hass. Mr. Hass has been a lifetime resident of this area.  He was raised on his family farm in Marcellus, where he learned very young how to operate farm equipment.  Charlie was an avid war buff, and also loved fishing, reading, camping, and taking walks. Mr. Hass served his country during the Vietnam War.  He was employed as a welder for many years for Eaton Corporation.  He truly loved his family, daughters, and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Teira Sue Hass, on April 23, 2003. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving family, two daughters, Erica (Michael) Vazquez and Misty Hass, both of Three Rivers; one sister, Barbara (Dennis) Herrold, of St. Joe, MI.; two brothers, Larry Hass, of Colon, MI., Danny Hass, of Three Rivers, three grandchildren, Hannah, Tori, and Trey Vazquez, all of Three Rivers, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. today March 6, 2009 at the Hohner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7th 2009 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Pastor Stan Keslor officiating. Interment will be held at Mt. Everest Cemetery, Kalamazoo, MI. Memorials may be donated to the Gift of Life Organization or the American Diabetes Association.  Envelopes available at the funeral home.
