Magdalena (Hochstedler) Yoder, age 85, of Burr Oak, died peacefully on March 5, 2009, at 3:25 p.m. at her home.
She was born on Jan. 15, 1924, in White Cloud, Mich., to Edward B. and Amanda (Wagler) Hochstedler. Magdalena lived 85 years, one month and 20 days.
On Jan. 12, 1947, she married Virgil D. Yoder; to this union were born three sons; Phillip (Esther) Yoder of Burr Oak, Orlis (Marrietta) Yoder of Mendon, and Virgil (Esther) Yoder, Jr. of Mendon; four daughters, Carol Ann (Kenneth) Borkholder of Burr Oak, Amanda Kaye (Ervin) Hostetler of Sturgis, Marilyn (Dennis) Schlabach of LaGrange, Ind., and Gloria Jean (Ezra) Eicher of Colon; 42 grandchildren; and 65 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sisters; three brothers and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the M&M Community Center at 59321 Nottawa Road, one mile north of Nottawa, with Ministers Glenn Yoder and Lester Schmucker officiating.
Interment will be in the Old Amish Cemetery on Truckenmiller Road in Nottawa.
