Mary Jean Herman, 80

Mary Jean Herman, age 80, of Sturgis, Michigan passed away unexpectedly
early Monday morning, March 23, 2009 at her home.
She was born April 1, 1928 in Burr Oak, Michigan a daughter to the late
Victor and Mary (Hanson) Boyer.
Jean had resided in the Burr Oak and Sturgis area most of her life. On
July 23, 1948 she married Fred Herman in Burr Oak. He died May 2, 2002.
Jean was a homemaker and member of the First Presbyterian Church in
Sturgis. She enjoyed playing Bridge and was a graduate of Lindenwood
University with the class of 1950 where she received her Associates
Degree in Business.
Jean is survived by one son; Joe (Tina) Herman of Mishawaka, Indiana,
three grandsons; Danny Herman and Jeff Herman both of Sturgis, Michigan
and Cody Herman of Mishawaka, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, one son; Jeff Herman and two sisters; Louise Cobb
and Margaret Ann Goble preceded her in death.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. There will be
no visitation or services. Private placement of the ashes will take
place at the First Presbyterian Church Columbarium.
The family suggests those wishing to make a memorial donation in Mrs.
Herman’s memory consider the First Presbyterian Church, 1320 S. Lakeview Ave., Sturgis, MI 49091. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
