Allie McKay, 92

Allie Pearl McKay, age 92, died early Thursday, April 2, 2009 at her granddaughter’s home near Mendon.  She was born in Moulton, AL on Sep. 29, 1916 the daughter of Jessie and Lillie (Sparks) Jenkins.  Allie was married to William Erby McKay on Aug. 21, 1932 in Moulton.  They moved to Michigan in 1952.  Allie was a farm wife, working the farm with her husband, and raising their family. She enjoyed crocheting and fishing in her spare time. 

 

Allie is survived by 4 children and their spouses, William & Lucy McKay and Kenneth & Sue McKay both of Kalamazoo, Barbara Ann & Gene French of South Bend, and Larry & Vicky McKay of Three Rivers;  8 grandchildren;  26 great-grandchildren;  and 9 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William in 1993; and by 7 siblings.

 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 4, 2009 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon.  Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with her son in law, Rev. Gene French officiating.  Burial will be in Mendon Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Online register is available at www.eickhofffuneralhome.com
