Arthur “Art” Earl Clifton, age 88, of Three Rivers, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Heartland Health Care Center. He was born on Sept. 10, 1920in North Baltimore, Ohio the son of DeWard and Olive (Brown) Clifton.
Arthur was well-known for his artistic abilities, winning several awards and recognition for his talents over the years. Art was also an avid and enthusiastic outdoorsman, enjoying swimming, rustic camping and canoing, with an appreciation for wildlife.
Art was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Vere Clifton, and his maternal grandparents, Albert and Maggie Blodgett (whom raised Arthur from age four).
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Lillian (Fair) Clifton, of Three Rivers; one daughter, Linda (Jay) Shaffer, of Elkhart, IN., and one brother, Wayne Todd Clifton.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at the Hohner Funeral Home.
