Elsie Weaver, 90

Elsie Grace Weaver, age 90, of Sturgis, passed away Sunday
morning April 19, 2009 at the Loudon Health Center in Loudon, Tennessee.

She was born August 2, 1918 in Sturgis, Michigan a daughter to the late
William C. and Emma A. (Whittenburg) Studeman.

Mrs. Weaver was a lifelong resident of Sturgis with the exception of the
past three years when she was living in Tennessee to be closer to her
daughters.

On September 5, 1937 she married Howard M. Weaver at the Trinity
Lutheran Church in Sturgis. He died November 3, 2002.

Mrs. Weaver worked with her husband at Weaver & Lingg International
Harvester dealership in Sturgis and she was a dedicated wife, mother,
grandmother and homemaker.

She was a very active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church where she
had served on nearly all the ladies circles and committees. For many
years she was a 4-H leader and a Cub Scout Den Mother. She enjoyed
sewing and crocheting. Her exceptional baking and cooking skills will be
forever missed by her family.

Mrs. Weaver is survived by her twin daughters; Sue (Keith) Emerson and
Sally (Ronald) Magnus both of Loudon, Tennessee, one son; John
(Patricia) Weaver of Kirtland, Ohio, eight grandchildren; Doug, Dan,
Scott, Sarah, Teresa, Tod, Tracy and Taryn, 17 great grandchildren, one
sister; Inez Ultz of Burr Oak and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband and one brother; William A. Studeman preceded her
in death.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday
at the *Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa
St., Sturgis, MI 49091*. Funeral services celebrating the life of Elsie
Grace Weaver will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran
Church in Sturgis. The Revs. Calvin Kolzow and Michael Klafehn will
officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn
Cemetery in Sturgis.

The family suggests those wishing to make a memorial donation in Mrs.
Weaver’s memory to consider the Trinity Lutheran Church, 406 S. Lakeview
Ave., Sturgis, MI 49091 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 2300 Portage
St., Suite 341, Kalamazoo, MI 49001. Envelopes are available at the
funeral home.
