Ronald R. Droke, 70, of Three Rivers, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Three Rivers Health. He was born in Syracuse, Ind. on April 23, 1938, one of nine children born to Chester and Carrie (Knight) Droke. On Nov. 13, 1998 Ron married Carol (Barfell) Smith in Centreville. He worked at Peterson Springs in Three Rivers for 39 years, retiring in 2001.
Surviving Ron are his wife, Carol Droke of Three Rivers; daughter, Cindy Sigman of Three Rivers; sons, Ronald “Rusty” Droke of Lakeland, Fla. and Michael Droke of Three Rivers; step-daughters, Tawnie Varnell of Battle Creek and Heidi Sova of Grand Rapids; step-son, Dayton (Tara Scott) Smith of Three Rivers; sister, Mary Billett of Elkhart, Ind.; four granddaughters; nine grandsons; one great-granddaughter.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Interment of ashes will be at Poes Cemetery in Newberg Township. Arrangements were handled by Eley Funeral Homes in Constantine.
