Evelyn L. Pagels, age 85, of Sturgis, Mich., passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Thurston Wood Village, Sturgis, following an extended illness.
Evelyn was born in Goshen, Ind., Oct. 12, 1923, a daughter to Calvin and Katherine (Grove) Mishler. She graduated from Sturgis High School and has been a resident of the Sturgis area all of her life.
Evelyn was married to Raymond Wall and Roland Pagels, both of whom preceded her in death.
In her early life, Evelyn was a telephone operator and was employed at Three Rivers Hospital as a nurses aide. She enjoyed crafts and crocheting.
Surviving Evelyn are three sons, Gary (Paula) Wall of Sturgis, Doug (Kathy) Wall of Burr Oak, Craig Pagels of Mottville; daughter-in-law, Sue Wall of Grand Rapids, nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a son, Tom Wall; three sisters and one brother.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at Farrand Funeral Home, White Pigeon, where the funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
