Rosemary Miller, age 59, of Colon, Mich., passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
Rosemary was born Nov. 15, 1949, in Alma, a daughter of the late LaVon Burton and Calvin Sutton.
On Sept. 21, 1996, she married Ora Miller in Colon.
Rosemary had lived all her adult life in Colon. She was a homemaker and had worked at several area nursing homes.
She was a member of the Colon American Legion Auxiliary and Colon Lioness Club.
She is survived by her husband, Ora Miller of Colon; two daughters, Kimberly J. (Phillip) Day of Burr Oak and Vicki (Shawn) Machan of Fennville; five grandchildren, Tori, Ryan, Parker, Arionna and Brogan; seven brothers and sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy A. McCartney, and a brother, Timothy Sutton.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating the life of Rosemary Miller will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Schipper Funeral Home in Colon, with David J. Farrell officiating. Private interment of cremains will take place at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery in Colon.
If desired, the family suggests memorials be made in memory of Rosemary to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
