Dana Steven Horvath, Sr., age 63
White Pigeon, MI
formerly of South Bend, IN
passed away Sunday, June 14th, 2009 at his home when he lost his valiant fight with cancer. Dan was born in South Bend, on March 3, 1946, a son of the late Steven J and LaRayne A. (King ) Horvath. Dan graduated from Washington High School in South Bend and served in the U.S. Marines. He worked in the food industry for over 40 years serving as a regional manager at Clark Food Service in South Bend and previously for O’Dells and Burger Chef Restaurants. Dan loved NASCAR, M.I.S. and Dale Earnhardt. He was a fantastic father, brother, uncle and friend to all.
Surviving are his former wife Judith Hutchinson of Three Mile Bay, NY, sons Robert S. Horvath and Dana S. Horvath Jr. of White Pigeon, grandchildren Zoe, Xavier and Joel Remmo, sister Judith Cauffman of Mishawaka, IN, twin brother Donald S. (Barbara) Horvath of Granger, IN, four nephews James Cauffman and Jeffrey Cauffman of South Bend, Marc Horvath, Granger and Joseph Horvath, South Bend. Dan has donated his body to the U of M Medical School for cancer research. A celebration of Dans life will be held at a later date.
