Helen Marie Frye, age 74
Centreville
passed away Sunday, June 14th, 2009 at Three Rivers Health. She was born in Sturgis, on June 23, 1934, a daughter of Clayton and Anna (Edler) Melchi. Helen graduated from Sturgis High School in 1952 where she participated in cheer leading. On June 7, 1952 she married Wellington Frye in Sturgis. He preceded her in death in 1984. She worked as a waitress at E & K Restaurant in Centreville and previously at Rosies, Lowrys, Sportsman’s and Wesley’s restaurants. Helen loved to play bingo and work in her flower garden. She also enjoyed traveling especially to her cabin , Mexico and Las Vegas.
Surviving are her daughters Dianna (Richard) Gregory of Three Rivers, Debbie Graber of Constantine, sons Donald Frye of Centreville, Daniel Frye of Nottawa, 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and brothers in law Elwood Gest and Richard (Theresa) Fry and sister in law Marie Frye. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Chester and Eugene Melchi and sister Edith Gest.
Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Eley Funeral Home in Centreville where Religious Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 18th.
