Helen I. Teadt, age 87, of Burr Oak, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at the Lifecare Center in LaGrange, Ind.
She was born Dec. 29, 1921, in Springfield, Ohio, a daughter of the late Earl and Edna (Lankenau) Maystead.
Helen was a homemaker and a resident of Burr Oak most of her life. She enjoyed playing cards, puzzle books, reading, sewing, and gardening.
On Feb. 17, 1940, she married Clifford L. Teadt in LaGrange. He passed away Dec. 14, 1985.
Surviving are a son, Douglas Teadt of Burr Oak; a granddaughter, Lisa (Paul) Bobby of Algonquin, Ill.; three great-grandchildren, Luke, Brooklynn and Elijah Bobby; and a son-in-law, Richard Spence of Monee, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a daughter, Karen Louise Spence in November 2008.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service celebrating the life of Helen I. Teadt will be held at 2 p.m. Friday,at the Burr Oak Cemetery, with Mr. Larry Wallman officiating.
