Joanne Carmichael, age 80, of Sturgis, Michigan passed away early Friday morning August 7, 2009 at her home.
She was born May 19, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan a daughter to the late Walter and Gladys (Monroe) Barlow.
Joanne retired from Oak International in Sturgis following several years of employment as an accountant.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening and restoring her home and furniture.
She is survived by two Daughters; Valerie Peterson of Colorado and Brenda McHugh, two Sons; Timothy (Bonnie) Carmichael of Sturgis and Marty (Wanda) Carmichael of Colorado Springs, Colorado, nine Grandchildren; Teresa Peterson, Seth Peterson, Matthew McHugh, Carly McHugh, Tim Carmichael, Katie Carmichael, John Carmichael, Ben
Carmichael, Dan Carmichael, Andy Goebel and Krista Goebel, One Great Grandson; Oscar Goebel, One Brother; Walter Barlow of Maro, Minnesota, One Sister; Marjorie Kellogg of Battle Creek and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, one daughter; Teresa Goebel, one son; Mark Carmichael, two brothers; Robert Vale and Phillip Barlow and one sister; Barbara Hodges preceded her in death.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Joanne Carmichael will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the *Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331*.
The Rev. Andrew Goebel, grandson of Mrs. Carmichael will officiate. Private burial will take place at the Fairview Cemetery in Mancelona.
