Joseph Ringler, 82

Joseph Elva Ringler, age 82 of White Pigeon, passed away early Tuesday morning, Aug. 18, 2009, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.

He was born May 13, 1927, in North Dakota. Joe had resided in White Pigeon for the past
17 years, coming from Sturgis.

On Oct. 24, 1953, he married Nora Bellaire in Angola, Ind.

Following more than 37 years of emplo    yment, he retired from Ross Laboratories in Sturgis.

Following his retirement, he and his wife were escort drivers for oversize loads.

Joe was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army were he was a member of the Amphibious Unit and was also a cook earning the rank of Private. While in the Army, he was stationed in Greenland.

He and his wife had traveled throughout the United States and they were dedicated Scouting parents for many years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nora; a daughter, Penny Ann Sprowl of Sturgis; a son, Dale Allen (June) Ringler of Sturgis; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Ringler of Colorado and Timothy (Ann) Ringler of Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Ringler; step-mother Ada Ringler; a son, Joseph Ringler, Jr.; and several brothers and sisters.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Private services and burial will take place at Matteson Township Cemetery in Bronson at a later date.

The Hackman Family Funeral Homes Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
