Norma Jean Williams, age 67, of Nottawa passed away Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 at her home. She was born in Vicksburg, MI on November 11, 1941, a daughter of Robert and Martha (Huntington) Headley. Norma graduated from Centreville Public Schools. She married Richard C. “Buzz” Williams on July 26, 1959, and she was so proud to have just celebrated their 50th anniversary. Norma worked as a housekeeper at Keystone Place for 10 years retiring in 2006. She previously volunteered at the Community Action Agency for 5 years. Norma was a member of the React Club helping to find lost children at the County Fair, the Three Rivers CB Club,and the St. Joseph Co. Saddle Club. She served as parade chairman for 3 years, Nottawa Township Constable, cub scout leader and Sunday school teacher. Norma also helped establish pee wee baseball in Centreville and was the Nottawa news reporter for the Sturgis Journal.
Surviving are her husband Richard C. “Buzz” Williams sons Richard M. Williams, Nottawa, Robert G. (Karen) Williams, Sturgis, Raymond C. Williams, Nottawa, Roger A. Williams, Nottawa, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brother Walter Headley, Three Rivers and several nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ronald Lee Headley and a nephew Randy Williams.
Relatives and friends will be received Friday from 2-4 pm at the Eley Funeral Home in Centreville, where Religious Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Clint Zehr of New Covenant Christian Fellowship in Burr Oak officiating.
